Sara's BRILLIANCE-Sushant's INNOCENCE-Kedarnath: A POWERFUL Love Story

"Love has the power to create and destroy" and that's beautifully showcased in Abhishek Kapoor's directorial, 'Kedarnath', an eternal love story of two innocent souls.

A Glimpse of the Story:

The film is set in the backdrop of the massive Uttarakhand floods of June 2013 that destroyed the region in and around the holy Kedarnath temple. The story revolves around two innocent souls, Mansoor (played by Sushant Singh Rajput) and Mukku (played by Sara Ali Khan) who belong to two contrast religious faiths and class, and despite all the indifferences chose to love each other unconditionally.

The massive floods and the power of pure love (which can destroy anything) forms the crux of the story.

About the Characters:

Sushant Singh Rajput is seen playing the role of a Muslim boy named as Mansoor, who is a pithoo (porter) at Kedarnath. It was so good to see the actor rocking the silver screens after a long time and like always, this time too, he won our hearts with his innocence. The hard work that he has put in to prepare for his character is clearly visible. He has, very aptly, nailed his role yet again.

Sara Ali Khan who marks her Bollywood debut with the film is seen as Mukku, a wealthy Hindu girl residing in the region of Kedarnath. Her confidence, her fierce attitude, and her brilliant acting skill will leave you astonished. She has been a complete surprise package. At no point will you feel that it's her first film. She is a born actor and will keep you glued to the screens throughout with her natural performance.

What we liked/ disliked in the film:

The film is a visual treat and one rollercoaster ride of emotions. It's intense but also lighthearted. There is romance, a pinch of entertainment amidst high-intensity drama, recall value worth songs.

The film has all the elements to keep you hooked throughout. Especially, the second half will keep you on the edge of your seats, giving you goosebumps at every interval.

The climax will break your heart but the message followed with it will put a smile on your face. However, there could also have been a different climax which would have been more appealing and convincing (but the director knows it all).

Beautiful visuals, powerful effects (flood scenes), hard-hitting dialogues, and a simple-innocent story of pure love sums up the film.

The best part is, you leave the theater humming Amit Trivedi's soulful song, 'Namo Namo Shri Shankara' song from the film!

Overall:

'Kedarnath' is a story of love and religion, passion and spirituality and the whole wait for the film to release has been worth it. The film is a must watch, as Abhishek has very beautifully showcased the power of love and faith.

Sara is the USP of the film. She is one stellar actor and is surely taking home all the black ladies for 'Best Debutante' and 'Most Promising' actress this year. Sushant has yet again impressed us with his performance.

It's time to end the year with some good cinema and 'Kedarnath' is worth a watch for it. So grab hold of your loved ones and hit the theaters near you to celebrate the 'power of love'!

Sorry, but I can't resist not sharing the Chorus lines, which I have been humming since I left the theater a few minutes back: "Namo Namo Ji Shankara..Bholenath Shankara..Hey Triloknath Shambhu..Hey Shivay Shankara.."
