Firstly, I would like to tell you to please enter the theater with a clean slate and 'do not' compare 'Thugs of Hindoston' with 'Pirates of the Caribbean', because then only will you be able to enjoy the film to the fullest!

About the Characters:

Amitabh Bachchan is back in action. His stellar performance, high octane stunts, and hard-hitting dialogues will win your hearts. Even at the age of 76, he has been smoothly able to pull up power-packed action.

Aamir Khan's comic timing is killer and adds lighter moments to intense scenes.

Katrina Kaif is seen playing Suraiyya, a dancer and performer. You won't be able to take your eyes off the screens everytime she hits the dance floor.

Fatima Sana Shaikh as the warrior Zafira is impressive. So is Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, who plays Firangi Mallah's friend Shanichar.

What we liked in the film:

The film's grand set design will woo you, the background score and songs are aptly used to add the required essence.

Grand sets, remarkable performances, and kick-ass dialogues are the USP and make it a 'paisa vasool' film.

What we didn't like in the film:

The film has been stretched unnecessarily. There are around two to three times when you feel, okay now is the climax but then you again meet disappointment as a new turn starts from there.

The story loses track at many points, it completely goes haywire making the audience lose interest.

The direction of the film is very poor, there are various scenes where you feel that the film is losing the essence of its era. While Katrina surely has done a good job with her dance skills, there are portions where her steps don't make sense at all. Her moves don't match the beats.

Overall:

Owing to it's high-end dramatized action, huge ships and fight sequences with a pinch of comedy, the film becomes a must watch this Diwali vacation.

While the first half is racy, the second half especially the climax and denouement drags a bit.

Despite innumerable fight sequences, there is 'zero' bloodshed in the whole film, which, as Aamir Khan said in his interview, makes it a 'children friendly film'. For the older ones, Big B and Aamir's camaraderie will keep you glued.
