Race 3 Movie Review: Their Business is Lack of Story and Action!

Director: Remo Dsouza

Cast: Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah

Rating: 2

With a highly-appreciative Race, the first instalment in this series, Race 3 makes it tough to go through this lose drama only for an interesting twist in the end. Race 3 begins with Anil Kapoor aka Shamsher Singh, making a class entry only to be frisked by his bodyguards in his own arms and ammunition factory. Shamsher reveals the motto that his life is depended on - he first takes the decision and then gets angry. Giving us an example of the same, Anil impresses us in the first 10 minutes itself. Shamsher is then attacked by the enemy goons, and to avenge this attack, his twin children - Suraj Singh (Saqib Saleem) and Sanjana Singh (Daisy Shah) fight it out with the enemies, only to be saved by their step-brother Sikander Singh (Salman Khan) in the end.

Then starts the Race of this hatred and betrayal-oriented family drama. A voiceover introduces us to the cast where each character has a stunning entry of its own. This also introduces Yash (Bobby Deol) the trouble-shooter and loyal bodyguard of Sikander Singh. Jacqueline Fernandez aka Jessica is the mystery woman that you must look out for in this film. All looks good until we find out that the step-siblings are sick of this Siku (Salman Khan).

What follows then is a poor storyline of how the twins Suraj and Sanjana try to remove Sikander Singh out of this Race of family greed.

What Went Wrong:

Not even Anil Kapoor's fine acting skills and the comic timing could help this film by connecting a chord with the audience. With hardly a couple of clap-worthy dialogues, this film is poorly written. Dialogues like 'Mere Baap Ne Mar Kar Koyi Naya Kaam Nahi Kiya Hai (You die when you have to)' make you want to walk of the theatre right away. There's a scene where Sanjana (Daisy Shah) wants to open a laptop and says, 'Dil Nahi Dell Khol Ke Dekho', like SERIOUSLY?

With miserable dialogues, the music in Race 3 is also out of track. This film fails to even deliver one hit song. The music is a huge disappointment while the tracks do not get along with the film's pace. At most of the scenes, they are either forced-fit or come out of nowhere.

The Only Good Thing:

The twist that takes place towards the end. It is kind of new and looks good only because there's something 20% worthy of the tickets you bought by the end. But, it's pretty tough to survive the entire movie for a twist like this. Anil Kapoor as Shamsher Singh is too good for a goof-up action drama like this one.

The Final Verdict:

Remo Dsouza's this Race is a somewhere directional delight when it comes to the exotic locations, larger than life action sequences and the betrayal drama but fails miserably to give us anything content, music and story worthy.
