Irrfan Khan take a bow!

What happens when your only son, around whom your world revolves is taken away from you because of the negligence of the corrupt ministers?
A common man, his anger towards the amoral system and his fight to bring the truth in front of the world is what 'Madaari' is all about!

Glimpse of the story:

'Madaari' is an emotional journey of a father Nirmal Kumar (played by Irrfan Khan) and his fight to give justice to his son who becomes a victim of the evils of the society and loses his life.

The popular dialogue from the film: "Baaz chuzhe pe zhapta, utha le gaya! Kahaani sacchi lagti hai lekin acchi nahin lagti! Baaz pe palatwaar hua! Kahaani sachchi nahi lagti lekin khuda kasam bahut acchi lagti hai." (The hawk swooped on the prey and carried it away! You know the story is true, but don't like it. The prey then attacked the hawk.. Sounds impossible, but is so wonderful to hear) sums up the complete story.

About the characters:

Irrfan Khan and his stellar acting skills is something we are all aware of. Here as well along with charming us with his performance, he has proved that a movie if backed by a strong performer, can survive solely on one man and that we don't always need "the heroine content or some sexiness to make it a goof film/convey our message to the masses". Along with executing the annoyance of his character, he has very beautifully expressed the emotions of a father. For eg: When he mourns the death of his child in the hospital, it is so heart drenching that you will be left in tears. Next is the climax, when the child whom he had abducted, greets him with so much love and affection; this bond brings tears of joy to you.

Jimmy Shergill plays Nachiket Verma (Joint Commisioner of Police and the officer in charge of the case). This isn't the first time when he plays a Cop and looks like all cop roles are specially written keeping him in mind. The discipline, attitude, arrogance, etc. of a Police officer are brilliantly executed by Jimmy.

Vishesh Bansal as Rohan Goswami (Son of Home Minister who is kidnapped by Irrfan's character). Even after being a kid, he has done a great job in charming the audience with his cuteness.

High points of the film:

Along with keeping the audience glued to their seats with twists and turns, few light comedy punches are also added to bring freshness to the scenes, this keeps the audience from losing interest.

Low points of the film:

We tried our best to find loop holes in the performances, screenplay, etc. we couldn't find any; apart from few loose ends here and there in the story, there is not much to put light on. For eg: The intelligence of the kidnapper is more than all the high ranking intelligence officers! Like seriously? A common man has the power to surpass the officers, the tight security and the whole of police force of the country! This was something that wasn't easy to digest but then we can neglect it looking at the cards that unfold in the climax.

Overall:

'Madaari' is a 'One man Army' film that has all the components required for a good film. A simple movie with a strong meaningful message.

What makes 'Madaari' different from other social flicks is that the story here is a combination of emotions, thrill, a pinch of entertainment wrapped up with a strong social message that is the need of the hour for India!

So this weekend, get ready to watch the reality of the country on the silver screens.

P.S. Don't forget to take your kids along because it's time to awaken the Nation and our little angels need to learn a lot from this as the future of the country rests on their shoulders. So it becomes important to imbibe them with good knowledge about the society!

Jai Hind!
