Movie Review : Heropanti

What is your definition for Heropanti? If it is the hero beating the living day lights out of all the villains possibly on the face of earth, singing a few songs, and dance as well, blurting a few punch lines here and there; then well oh well Sabbir Khan's Heropanti is so worth a watch for you. If not, well then you fall under the category of people who like watching a little realistic cinema. Heropanti as a whole puts up a good enough show, but two and half hours of Tiger Shroff in cartwheels is a little too much.

In the era of big city versus small towns, comes a love story sealed with an impossible fate. The story of bold Bablu (Tiger Shroff) and the bratty Dimpy (Kriti Sanon). Will Bablu and Dimpy's love blossom under the terror of a brutal clan and the violent landscape it is set against? 'Heropanti' is the story of two young conflicting protagonists, their battles with society and their coming of age love story.

Heropanti has a lot to do with Tiger Shroff's herogiri than him acting. Well you can't completely disregard him as a bad actor, but definitely needs a lot of improvement. Much ridiculed for his looks, there is some good amount of feminist traits in his looks, especially his hair, which is not styled at all well, keeping in consideration, his broad forehead. His smile is another aspect that's needs to be brought under control, he smiles a little too much in the film. But hats off to his action, and considering he has done it all by self, without any body-double is marvelous. If worked on, Tiger Shroff can pretty much make a place for himself as an actor. He has the body, the dance and the action, a little work on his acting and dialogue delivery; he sure can be one of the loved actors of the masses. Paired opposite him is yet another debutant, Kriti Sanon. So looks very pretty on screen, as well as very expressive. Though she doesn't have much to do as an actor in the film, she doesn't go unnoticed either. As compared to Tiger Kriti Sanon, doesn't seem to be a great dancer, pulls off her moves decently. Then comes the barrel of talent, Prakash Raj; he plays Kriti's father in the film. What a phenomenal actor he his. To emote two different emotions in one scene, of the anger and sorrow, could never go wrong by him. He plays the villain you want to kill as well as the father you just want to hug, and keep for life.

Music by Sajid-Wajid (Sajid Ali and Wajid Ali) is very nice and one of the highlights of the film. Whistle Baja, and Raat Bhar are some of great tracks from the album. Editing could have been a little more precise as the move starts to drag in the second half and eventually becomes predictable.

Considerably heropanti wasn't as disappointing as Sabbir Khan's debut project, Kambakkht Ishq. The movie has a predictable storyline but some awesome action sequences to look forward to. (Heropanti) 'kya karu sab ko aati nahi aur meri jaati nahi' you will come across this one dialogue many a times through the film. Well even though you would be a little confused as to whether he is dancing or fighting (since most of it are cartwheels) you could make it a part of your weekend schedule.
