After a series of flops in the recent past, Subhash Ghai turned his direction towards finding raw talent and nurturing them. He began with - Whistling Woods International, a state of the art film school, and Mukkta Arts began on a complete talent hunt. With his latest release - Black and White, Subhash Ghai has truly made a come back to excellent craftsmanship. Black and White has purely one message to deliver that is - Harmony.

The story is based on one man, and his fifteen day journey from a black and disastrous past to a future with peace. The story takes off when Numair (Anurag Sinha) comes to Delhi with a hidden agenda of blowing up the Red fort on the 15th of August. Numair hailed from an Islamic Background where he believes in following true Islam and can do to the extent of shooting people at any given point for insulting the religion. He goes thru a series of reality checks where he see’s the world using Religion to their own benefits. Numair becomes a man who doesn’t understand relationships but uses emotions to achieve his target. He comes face to face with Professor Mathur and his wife - Roma (Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah) who teach him what love and togetherness is all about. Numair begins to discover himself and the world and gets a reality check into the true art of living.

Kudos to the director of making one movie with limited bloodshed, harsh political and religious tiffs, melodramatic romantic angles and endless tears. The love story in the show fitted in well, and thank-fully wasn’t dragged. The scene where Numair kills Milind, is beautifully shot and well expressed. The music is simply outstanding, especially - Jogi Aaya and Main Chala, truly touch your hearts.

A Brilliant performance put up by Anurag Sinha. Anil Kapoor proves himself once again along with Shefali Shah, who lives her short lived role quite beautifully. Aditi surely has scope for improvement while the rest of the cast, the senior citizen. On the whole a great attempt by Subhash Ghai. ‘Black and White’ is one movie not to be missed by people of all genres.
