Tum Milo Toh Sahi – Worth the meeting

In Tum Milo Toh Sahi we have Subramanian (Nana Patekar). He hasn't been able to get over his mother's death and the fact that he is a bachelor beyond the eligible age doesn't help either. The worst part is, his appeal for extension of work tenure gets rejected by his boss (Mohnish Behl) and that makes him this constantly crabby person. So he holds a grudge against life and kicks out any chances of happiness that presents itself to him.

He accidentally meets Dilshad (Dimple Kapadia), a perpetually peppy Parsi, who runs her coffee shop with sweat, heart and soul. This accidental meeting onsets a 'pehle jhagda,phir pyar' (first tiff, then love) kind of cute romance between them.

Dilshad has a girl-pal named Anita. She has a special attachment towards Dilshad's 'The Lucky cafe' not just because Dilshad 'aunty' is her friend but because she had met her hubby Amit (Suneil Shetty) there. However, things aren't rosy between them as he is too busy minting money and that's all that matters to him.

Dilshad's coffee shop is a hub of activities because it's close to a college and offers facilities of net surfing and library for the students. Two among these are Shalini (Anjana Sukhani )and Bikramjeet (Rehan Khan).

The core of the story is the Lucky cafe and a corporate coffee shop giant named Blue Bells' foxy attempt to acquire it so that they can make it their signature location among the many other shops planned in the city.

All of the characters come together to help save the cafe for Dilshad and this fight to help get the lady what is rightfully hers does the whole bunch a whole lot of good!

Yay!

Once again, Nana Patekar makes us all laugh keeping a straight face. His cracked- old- man antiques are enough to give you a split on the sides!

Even, Dimple has endearingly portrayed Dilshad. The warmth of the character resonates off the screen.

The film goes on at an interesting pace and even though the songs are not something that make your feet go tapping, they compliment the movie finely and helps keep up with the story.

Although the story is not too detailed, it seems genuine and relatable. A word of caution here, non-urban audience may not feel the same way.

The issue of land usurping through hook or by crook is not uncommon in our country. It's commendable that the film focuses on this issue.

Yawn…

Anjana Sukhani's styling could've been more decent. She calls someone else a wannabe in the movie. However, she ends up looking that part.

Background score seems repetitive. And the fact that every character is given a background doesn't help stifle that yawn either.

The climax courtroom drama lacks gravity. It could've been bit more elaborate and lucid with the legal part instead of seeming like hurried icing on a piece of well-baked cake.

And why did Tanisha (yupp, its Kajol's little sister) go for that utterly inconsequential item song? Real pity, for both the audience and her.

Yes or No?

Tum Milo Toh Sahi is a thumbs up when it comes to pop-corn entertainment. The best bet for a family outing this weekend.
