Veteran designer Adarsh Gill, known for serving fashionistas with her couture garments, has finally entered ready-to-wear business and gives credit to the young generation for propelling her into the business.

"There is always a place for something new to achieve and ready-to-wear is in trend because today every girl is wearing jeans and top. It's the demand of the generation," Gill told IANS.

Her creation has been worn by the likes of legendary actress Natalia Makarova, theatre actor Charlene Nederlander, singers Diana Ross and Barbara Streisand and actress Uma Thurman.

But she feels couture has restricted clientele and that is why most designers are venturing pret way.

"Couture has a very limited market, it's not for everyday use. It can only be worn either for special occasions or weddings. Today, every girl has started dressing in western clothes and this is why pret has become a big market," she elaborated.

Her pret line encompasses of short dresses, tunics, jackets, trousers, skirts, kaftans and jumpsuits in bright colours and wearable fabrics.

"I have opted for pure fabrics like silk, satin, georgette and chantal. I worked meticulously with shades of red, orange, fuchsia, purple and royal blue. Each detail has been well-examined to go along with the collection," she said.

The collection is available at her store with price range starting from Rs.6,000.
