P.K. Sets New Records

Rajkumar Hirani's Aamir Khan Starrer, P.K. collects Rs. 182.58 crore in its first week in India, making it the highest week 1 collection.

The film opened at 26.63cr on a working Friday and Saturday saw an upward growth of 30.34cr. Sunday made a record breaking 38.44cr. The first weekend saw the highest rate of growth for any big Indian cinema film.

P.K. collected 27.55cr on Thursday, making it the highest Christmas day collection for any movie.

P.K. set quite a few records in Hindi cinema; Highest non Holiday Monday collection for any Film (21.22 cr), Highest day 7 collection ever for any film (27.55cr), Highest Christmas Holiday collection ever and the Highest Opening Week for any Hindi Film 182.58cr.

The film has been loved and appreciated from audiences across the globe.

Experts state that, like all other Rajkumar Hirani films, his recent release, P.K. seems to be enjoying a very high repeat index. In fact, this time around it is the highest ever for any film in Hindi cinema.

Due to a very strong word of mouth, the repeat viewing of the film is very high.

The collections are going up day by day and the weekday advance booking is also excellent. The film is now drawing a repeat audience, thanks mainly to the fact that PK, like all Rajkumar Hirani's films, caters to a strong middle class Indian audience and its humour is also very Indian in ethos. We expect P.K. to go ahead and become the most successful film ever..."

With a strong word of mouth P.K. has already began attracting repeat audiences. All shows are almost full over the weekend.
