Today, BollyCurry celebrates the birthdays of two beautiful actresses who have won our hearts over the years, and they are none other than the tomboy Preity Zinta and the beautiful mother Amrita Arora.

Preity Zinta was born in Himachal Pradesh to Durganand Zinta, an officer in the Indian Army whom she lost at the age of thirteen in a car accident, and Nilprabha Zinta. She has an older brother Deepankar, who is also an army officer like her father, and a younger brother Manish. She studied in a boarding school until the age of eighteen and went on to graduate with an Honors Degree in English from St. Bede's College in Shimla. She then studied Criminal Psychology at university.

She debuted as a supporting actress with Dil Se.. in 1998 opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, which earned her many accolades. Preity Zinta's debuted as a lead actress later that same year with Soldier, which was a commercial. Zinta won the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for her work in both her debut movies.

Her next Hindi release was Sangarsh (1999) opposite Akshay Kumar, which didn't do well at the box office but earned appreciation for the actress. Preity's next few releases, such as Kya KehnaHar Dil Jo Pyaar Karega and Mission Kashmir in 2000, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Dil Chahta Hai in 2001, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Koi Mil Gaya, and Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003, were all super hits at the box office and did extremely well.
