Happy Birthday Parineeti Chopra!

Today is the birthday of a vivacious actress who has carved a niche for herself with just 3 movies. We're talking about none other than, Parineeti Chopra!!! Chopra was born on 22nd October 1988 in Ambala to a Punjabi family. At the young age of 17, she moved to London where she received a triple honor degree in business, finance, and economics from the prestigious Manchester Business School. During a visit to Yash Raj Studio with her cousin, Priyanka Chopra, she was introduced to the head of PR and was offered an internship in the marketing department. While working on promotions of Band Baaja Baraat, she realized she wanted to be an actress and decided to quit her job. Initially Aditya Chopra was aghast at the suggestion to cast a girl from his own marketing department. But as the fates would have it, Aditya Chopra ended up seeing her audition tape and within no time she was offered a 3 film deal with the production house.

Chopra made her onscreen debut in 2011 in Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl in a supporting role. The film received mixed reviews from the critics but everyone agreed Chopra was undoubtedly the best. She won the Filmfare, IIFA, Apsara, and Screen Awards for Best Debut, while she also bagged the Apsara and IIFA for Best Supporting Actress. Her second release and first movie as a lead was Ishaqzaade with Arjun Kapoor. The film was loved by audiences and critics alike, and her portrayal of the feisty Zoya was touted as the biggest strength of the film. The movie was credited as a super hit and earned a National Film Award Special Mention. Chopra's recent stint at the box office was Shuddh Desi Romance alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, which was also a commercial success.

She has a few projects in the pipeline opposite heartthrobs Sidharth Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Chopra actively supports a number of causes and has even walked the ramp at Wills India Lifestyle Fashion Week to support an NGO dedicated to empowering girls. She endorses a variety of brands and has become a household name after appearing in commercials for Kurkure, Nivea, Maaza, and We Chat.
