Film festival on social transformation to start Oct 2

The first edition of Yes! I am the change film festival for social transformation will start here Oct 2.

The inaugural edition of the two-day festival organised by Yes Foundation, the social development arm of Yes Bank, will be held at the Hall of Culture, Nehru Centre at Worli, here, said a statement.

It is a nationwide filmmaking competition that aims to provide the youth of our nation, a platform to contribute to India's social development through filmmaking.

Some 500 teams comprising 2,100 citizen filmmakers have made short films of up to five minutes' duration in just 101 hours on non-governmental organisations, everyday heroes and social causes.

A pre-screened and selected 60 best films from the project will be screened at the festival with an aim to create awareness and engagement with social causes.

Eminent personalities like social activist Shaheen Mistri, ad film director Prahlad Kakkar and filmmaker Kailash Surendranath have been mentors to the project.
