Lata sings for Asha in 'Maaee'

Mumbai, May 27 (IANS) Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has agreed to sing the title track of 'Maaee', the film in which her younger sister and equally celebrated singer Asha Bhosle is making her acting debut.

'Lata didi has agreed to sing the title track of my film 'Maaee' and I am very happy,' Asha told IANS.

The title track is yet to be recorded and will be scheduled as per Lata Mangeshkar's availability, who has reduced her playbacking singing drastically and sings very few songs nowadays. It has been composed by Nitin Shankar.

Asha's granddaughter Zanai is also set to make her singing debut in the same film.

Principal shooting of 'Maaee', that has been helmed by Mahesh Kodiyal and produced by Subhash Dawar and Nitin Shankar, is almost complete. The film was to have a total shoot time of 40 days but it was reported that it will be completed in just 35 days.

'Maaee', also starring Padmini Kolhapure as Asha's daughter, is the story about a woman who goes on to live with her daughter and son-in-law after being abandoned by her only son.
