India At Cannes'10!

The 63rd Cannes Film Festival has kicked off, and as has been practice for past some years now, this prestigious French film festival saw some prominent Indians in attendance.

Shekhar Kapur, who is a member of the jury this year was seen donning a traditional high collared beige achkan with black pants at the Opening Ceremony on May 12th.

There was of course, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as always. Who looked every bit of the gorgeous blue eyed beauty she is, in a pastel gray-lavender colored Ellie Saab slightly off shoulder gown of tulle and mousseline. Alongside Eva Longoria, she was seen walking the red carpet for the premiere of Robin Hood the same day.

In her maiden participation at Cannes was the lovely Deepika Padukone who stuck to a traditional attires. Looking slender the lady showed off a brilliant Rohit Bal designer saree on the red carpet. Hair tied into a traditional bun, Deepika looked every bit a lady of the Indian community she was representing! She was also seen at another time in a dress wear with off white base garnished by light brown and maroon work. Complete with open hair and a bindi atop her fore head, she warmed the hearts of many onlookers with her grace and ease.

Finally there was Mallika Sherawat, a riveting class of her own in a white full length dress, present for Hisss.

And that's all to the first glimpse of Cannes the 63rd!

Deepika looks stunning!!Mallika could have kept her mouth closed..the wide set grin killed the effect.the white gown was elegant and looked good on her.Aishwarya should stop representing India at the Cannes.she has started resembling her mother in law,with that wannabe makeup and flab.to top it all,she looks too old and tired.enough with the fake smile and irritating giggles already

Ash has lost it....she has gained a lot of weight,the hair and make-up are disastrous and plus those gowns don't suite her...especially the 1st one...it's ghastly

Ash.. eehhh. Liked the dresses, but not liking the overall look. She looks too chubby for the dresses. Good try, nonetheless.

Aishwarya seriously needs to accept the fact that she is losing it. She's no more the diva. Her age was clearly showing on her face. Eva Longoria looked more beautiful infront of her.

Deepika, oh you just look awesome. Hope that tattoo at the back of your neck becomes true again :(

Just read that most of the western media and also a national daily paper in UK have given THUMPS UP for all the dresses & accessories worn so far by Aish. Good for her. Not bothered what others in India think on her dresses and hair do.
