The grand finale for IPL season 3 exceeded by far the
word 'grand' itself!
Preceding the nail biting final that
was to ensue between three times semi finalists Chennai Super Kings
(CSK), and home team/majority's favorite Mumbai Indians (MI) at DY Patil
stadium in Navi Mumbai, was a welcome marked by prominent some!Amidst
glitteratti, paparazzi, the cheers of about 50,000 fans, specks of
yellow and a sea of blue, the game was set to commence. Prior to this
came tinsel town's entertaining brigade. While former Miss Universe
Sushmita Sen was spotted among the crowd, Bipasha Basu took a round of
the ground doing her sensuous jiggles to superhit tracks from Race and
All The Best!
Shahid
was landed from a hovering craft to shake his famous leg to Chaska from
upcoming release Badmaash Company, and later to 2009's
energizing chartbuster Dan Te Nan.
Grammy and Oscar
winner A.R.Rahman got the spectators on their feet with his Jai Ho performance,
sharing the stage with Pussycat Dolls. In culmination of the colorful
opening ceremony to the final game of IPL season 3, music maestro Rahman
cast the spell of his melody with Maa Tujhe Salaam (Vande Mataram)
- a perfect way to end the splendor, and an inspiring way to kick start
the game!
With CSK lifting the trophy for this season (IPL
2010), skipper M.S.Dhoni's team has finally accomplished what was missed
by a mere run against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra's Rajasthan Royals
in IPL-I. Having been the only team to have made it to the semi final
stage in all three seasons so far, the consistency of the team has
finally paid off and trophy has convincingly been bagged by the supposed
underdogs against the voted best contenders of IPL - III.
Three
cheers for the Men in Yellow!

CSK all the wayyy!! watta game.. they totally deserved the trophy!!!
I fully agree with scarlett.lady
Just cause MI lost, blaming it all on Match fixing is not fair. That only shows that people can't even accept defeat sportingly. I'm sure if MI would have won, there would be no question of match fixing right? It's all favoritism here. CSK deserved to win, and I'm happy they did.
CSK ROCK
CSK ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
i wanted csk to win as i was supporting it frm ipl 1 itself only... bt as m frm mumbai i was suppoting mumbai also..
happy dat csk won as ma big fan of dhoni... bt sad dat mumbai lost nd tendulkar gt a very bad b'day gift... nd we both share same day of birthday's...
Congratulations CSK!!! They are a great team and I am quite fond of them since IPL- 1.They have always been the most consistent ones. Even though MI were good, CSK...and not to forget Dhoni's thoughtful decisions as captain during the crucial overs paid off. Truly deserved IPL-3 trophy ...way to go CSK!!!
csk rocks
its very happy that csk won. and dhoni's captaincy was brilliant. all the guys in csk performed really well. thank you so much for bringing the cup to chennai.........
they should have sent pollard ahead. anyways csk rocks.............
but really sachin is great and hats off to him.
well they were a good team, but wanted MI to win!
it was good, but MI lost felt so bad
I've never seen a team as Brilliant as the CSKs!! I soo am proud that its my own home team!! Far away from their city , admist a thousand in blue , they win it soo majestically that they leave no clue..that they're the best out there..
They're the Super Kings!!
sure am - you may have to admit i'm not talking like a half ignorant lame fan here! CSK have been consistent in the literal sense of the word, for all three seasons, and have displayed every victory comes as a team - MI on the other hands, for all the favoritism they garner, have been minority show so many times... you notice dhoni and raina cause they hold the scores? how bout giving morkel's twisted 19th over a thought? if dhoni could make that win against KXIP in the last over, so could Pollard against CSK if he had lasted... Murli held them at a stringent 17 in 4 overs when the starter run rate was about 8p.o. ... its little things put together that work fantastically ... CSK caught some easy to miss catches, and MI dropped some in hand ones... Sachin fell short at the brink of a half century on what could have been a six and a continuance of an innings that they could well win ...
the game was neck to neck until the end and its a sorry excuse for fans to blame things on fixing ... yes things are commercialized, and there is no debating the dirty games that go on behind the scenes... but if we're going to live with the idea that thats all there is to any game we watch, its a pity to even watch sports ... as an MI fan, if mumbai had won would it be any less fixed in your opinion?
basically, lets keep prejudice and fixing apart - they are two entirely separate issues...
