Shahid Kapoor's surprise 29th birthday bash!

Close friend and director Siddharth Malhotra threw a surprise party for Bollywood's current boy sensation, Shahid Kapoor, for his 29th birthday, which officially falls on Thursday. Held at Escobar, what surprised a clueless Shahid the most was the presence of his family - father Pankaj Kapoor, stepmom Supriya Pathak, mother Neelima Azim and step siblings Rohan and Sana (both of whom Shahid is extremely fond of).

On micro blogging site Twitter the extremely elated birthday lad has admitted that this is the first ever surprise birthday party organized for him.

Also in attendance were seen co stars and friends Genelia and Amrita Rao - and lo! A glance at the two girls together, each in a broken white ruffled blouse with a chic black mini skirt, seemed to betray a dress code of sort - who knows?! There were others - Archana Puran Singh with hubby Parmeet, Pritam, directors Imtiaz Ali and Ken Ghosh both of whom Shahid has worked with and non Bollywood personalities like Siddharth Mallaya and Atul Kasbekar.
