Personal Life:
Sharad Kelkar is a Maharashtrian from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. In June 2005 he married fellow actor and co-star Kirti Gaekwad (now Kirti Kelkar).
Early Career:
After completing graduation and then MBA, Sharad started teaching physical education. When he got a chance to come to Mumbai on a seven-day visit, for the first time, he got to know of Grasim Mr India 2002 almost on the last day. On an impulse, Sharad participated in the ramp show. That was his first attempt at fame or whatever little he got of it then. Around that time Sharad had a part-time job with Airtel, besides working as a gym instructor at Madhavrao Scindia's club in Gwalior. With his mother's blessings, Sharad landed mumbai again and like any other newcomer, he too had to struggle a lot. Sharad started with modelling and almost within one month, he had done about 25 ramp shows. He also did some ads with Prahlad Kakkar of which the prominent ones are Skoda, LG Refrigerator, Hero Honda, Bharat Petroleum, Maruti Esteem, Dabur Red Gel toothpaste.
Television:
Sharad started his television career as the lead role, Nahar Singh, of Saat Phere. Along with Saat Phere, Sharad also played the role of Rudra Raizada in Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka. After these shows ended, Sharad along with his wife Kirti Kelkar appeared on TV as a contestant of Pati Patni Aur Wo. Sharad was then played the role of Thakur Digvijay Singh Bhadoria/Ranvir in Bairi Piya. Together, the couple was againd seen on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 2 as a contestant. Sharad played the cameo, Abhay, in Sarvagun Sampanna. Currently, Sharad is playing the role of Satyaveer in Uttaran.
