Satish Kaushik is an actor, director, writer and producer in Bollywood.
He was Calendar in Mr.India, he wrote the satire Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and
directed the Shahid-Kareena starrer Milenge Milenge.
Satish
Kaushik is an Arian whose birthday is on 13th April. He was born in New
Delhi and graduated from the Kirori Mal College. He later studied at
the National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of
India.
He is currently on the board of Asian Academy of Film
and Television. He is also the co-founder of Karol Bagh Production with
Anupam Kher. Their company's first release will be Tere Sang which
Kaushik will direct.
On television, Kaushik was seen as an anchor on the popular Philips Top Ten, which he also wrote.
Satish
Kaushik's debut as an actor was in Shekhar Kapoor's Masoom (1983). He
was also an assistant director for this movie. He is best remembered
for his role in Mr.India as Calendar. He has also won the Filmfare Best
Comedian Award twice for Ram Lakhan (1990) and Saajan Chale Sasural
(1997).
He wrote the dialogues for the comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron (1983).
Kaushik's
directorial debut was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) which starred
Sridevi and Anil Kapoor. But the movie was below average. Hum Aapke Dil
Mein Rehte Hai (1999) did well and he directed Aishwarya Rai and Anil
Kapoor in Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, in which Rai played a rape victim.
Mujhe
Kuch Kehna Hai (2001) catered to a younger audience and saw Kareena
Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor paired together. Tere Naam (2003) with Salman
Khan was a remake of a Tamil movie Sethu.
He also directed the remake of Karz called Karzzz (2008) with Himesh Reshammiya in the lead. The movie was not well received.
Milenge
Milenge's release has been held up as the movie's lead pair Shahid
Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor broke up. He also plans to make a movie on
Tansen.
