The Bollywood film industry is going to get yet another debutant actor soon, as the famous model Maradona Rebello is all set to appear in the upcoming film named Pankh. The sources from the industry have informed that Sanjay Gupta's Pankh is being directed by the famous director Sudipto Chattopadhyay and the film also stars the leading Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu. They said that apart from sharing his name with the football legend Maradona, the new actor really has a great look and he is a brilliant actor as well.
When contacted and enquired about his background before starting his acting career, the model-cum-actor Maradona said, "I started modelling last year. And at the same time I also gave auditions for films, and commercial ads. Luckily, I got me myself enrolled in a theatre course under Raj Jagdishan. Then I acted in a play titled 'An Evening with Shakespeare and Actors'. I got immense accolades for that role and then I realized that acting was my true calling". He was also talking about his debut venture in the Bollywood named Pankh and said, "I simply sauntered for auditions, clueless about the fact that 250 candidates had already auditioned for the same. Sudipto gave me two pages of the script and asked me to emote in my own way. Then he gave me an entire narration and explained that it was a dark film about a young boy who is promoted as a girl child in films".
Maradona was quite excited while talking about working with Bipasha Basu in the film and said, "Sudipto had introduced me to Lilette and Bipasha before the shooting commenced so that I got over my fear of acting with big names. Though she's a big star, Bipasha never intimidated me and I must admit that Bipasha is very approachable". Maradona was also asked why he is making debut in an art film and he replied, "The fact is, people are opening up to new kind of cinema. Commercial films are a pass. Look at the star cast. I am lucky to have bagged this venture". So, there is another new kid in the industry and the Indian film enthusiasts would definitely like to see how Maradona performs in Pankh.
